Three for Vasse Felix chardonnay
A hat trick was achieved by Vasse Felix at the National Wine Show of Australia last week.
As the winery celebrated the opening of its new cellar door with business associates and community contacts, chief winemaker Virginia Willcock received news of the wins on her phone.
Three trophies were awarded to the 2009 Vasse Felix Heytesbury Chardonnay at the event in Canberra.
The awards included the Oakton Trophy was achieved in the best chardonnay category, the Dan Murphy’s Trophy for the best dry white wine and the Len Evans Memorial Trophy for best table wine of the show.
“The art of doing as little as possible to what our vineyards express so perfectly, balanced with doing as much as possible to create a pristine pathway to bottle is what it is all about,” Ms Willcock said.
“I could not be happier with how this wine looks and what it is saying about Margaret River’s ability to produce world class chardonnay”
Production of the 2009 Heytesbury chardonnay is strictly limited.
