Pride Month: Samantha Jade,Natalie Bassingthwaighte set to perform at The Court’s Street Party

She’s back in town for the first time since she eloped with her long-term partner Patrick Handlin, and Perth sweetheart Samantha Jade is here for a good time not a long time. The ARIA award winner is set to light up the stage when she performs at The Court’s Street Party as part of pride month celebrations. It is already known as the city’s biggest street party — but this year it’s even bigger, with Beaufort Street and James Street being closed to traffic for the big event. Ms Jade said she can’t wait to return to the Pride stage. “I am so excited! I’ve performed at Pride a few years ago and it was honestly one of my favourite shows to date,” she told The West Australian. “The crowd is always so kind and really there to have a good time. I’m just so excited to come back and especially come back to my hometown and be able to bring my show, it’s going to be great.” The former X Factor contestant said she hasn’t done a full performance in Perth in four years and she can’t wait to perform some of her new material to the home crowd. Also set to take the stage at the Street Party is Neighbours star Natalie Bassingthwaighte. The Rogue Traders frontwoman said fans can expect some old songs from her. “I’m definitely going to do some throwbacks which will be really cool but I want to go out with a bang. I want it to be really fun, and uplifting, and I want everyone to have the time of their lives. It’s gonna be amazing,” Bassingthwaighte told The West Australian. Both women said their presence at the event was important in showing the LGBTQI+ community that they stand strongly behind them as their allies. “I think that we all need to support one another in whatever journeys we’re going through in life and just to be a part of that,” Bassingthwaighte said. The Voice winner Alfie Arcuri, Jawbreakers, and Sexshooters will also join the two female pop singers as part of the lineup. The Court Street Party will be held on Saturday night, tickets are still on sale.
