Lizzie Brayshaw, the wife of Fremantle Dockers star Andrew, has opened up about her life in the AFL bubble.
“I’ll always be grateful for the friendships and experiences football has allowed us,” she told The West.
Despite players moving to different clubs, Lizzie said the friend group they made upon arrival to WA in 2019 remains tighter than ever.
“When we first moved to Perth we built a truly special relationship with Claudia and Adam Cerra, Chloe and Caleb Serong, Rali Maynard and Hayden Young, El and Lloyd Meek and Kate and Will Brody,” she said.
“Four out of five of our couples got married in the last nine months. We are all still the best of friends even though not everyone is still at the Dockers.”

The high school sweethearts, who met at Melbourne’s Haileybury College, recently tied the knot at the stunning Villa Dionysus in West Swan in November 2025.
Lizzie is far from just a face in the crowd at Optus Stadium as the registered nurse has managed to build a successful career working at Blanc Skin in Cottesloe.
“I’ve been able to live across the other side of the country and build a life surrounded with football friends and new friends,” she said.

The move has also become a family affair, with Andrew’s brothers now living in Perth and a new niece or nephew on the way.
“My sister in law, who lives around the corner, is about to have a baby. It’s so exciting,” she said.
Lizzie also wasn’t afraid to get real about the perks of the AFL lifestyle, acknowledging that the sport provides a lifestyle many their age can only dream of.
“It’s also a bit taboo to talk about but football has given us the financial security that sadly lots of young people today just don’t have,” she said.
