Though 80 shortlisted artists from across the State were in contention for the Town of Claremont Art Awards, it seems fitting that a Claremont local would take out top honours.

Claremont business owner Stef Rae was awarded the first place prize of $5000 for her oil painting Continuum, which the judging panel described as “emotive” and “skillfully executed”.

Sarah Sinclair scooped second place, while Felicity Bodycoat took out the inaugural Sculpture Prize and Aaron Moore won the Claremont Local award.

The exhibition is open for public viewing until August 27, with artworks available for sale unless already snapped up.
