Winter Twilight Market

The Perth Makers Market will be hosting a Twilight Market at the Perth Cultural Centre on Friday July 1 from 4pm onwards. There is something for everyone in the family with more than 80 of the best West Australian artisans in attendance, delicious food, a pop-up bar, live music, and a dinosaur trail.

Micro to Maxi

Fashion is known to go from one extreme to the other, but this time we can’t help but breathe a sigh of relief as micro-bags near the end of their supreme reign. Fashion influencers are swapping out ridiculously small micro-bags for the exact opposite — maxis, as seen on Alessa Winter, pictured. Maxis carry a certain Marry Poppins-esque style about them, and bring anything and everything you need . . . unlike Lizzo’s purse with which she graced the American Musica Awards red carpet in 2019, also pictured.

Revelation Perth International Film Festival

If you’re a fan of feature films, this one is for you. The Revelation Perth International Film Festival is returning to Luna Palace Cinemas in Leederville for a 10-day celebration of the best independent global and local cinema. Starting on July 7, the celebration will include 26 feature films, 16 documentaries and more than 50 short films — including Bassendream, pictured. SAFE Fashion Runway

The second rendition of SAFE Fashion Runway is set to touch down at Perth Airport on June 25, showcasing the best of Perth’s emerging talent including 10 next-gen designers. Perth’s fashion set will take over Terminal 2 for an immersive runway show with a surprise intermission that no one will see coming, says founder Jody Carheel. If you want to treat yourself or a loved one to some luxurious pyjamas at an affordable price, opt for local brand The Vow Sleepwear, based in Margaret River. The recently launched St Tropez collection, pictured, retails for $89.95, with a portion of the proceeds going towards The Women & Infants Research Foundation.

Founder Maria experienced a miscarriage during her second trimester and stumbled upon the idea to create The Vow as she couldn’t find any luxurious sleepwear in her coastal town.

“Putting on a pair of PJs can do so much more than assist you in a good sleep but make you feel beautiful. You never know what someone is going through or how they are feeling,” she says.

Allkinds

This fabulous brand for children opened a store in Claremont Quarter last month, bringing its burst of colourful, vegan and gentle bath, body, skin and hair care products to WA. From aromatherapy to fit certain moods, to shampoos with natural ingredients and skincare designed for teenagers, its mission is to be a “place where kids can find fun self-care, made just for them”. If you bring back your empty containers, Allkinds will recycle them.

Styleware

Ugly containers, begone! Last year, Perth couple Arabella and Matthew Selby decided to design the bowl they wanted, but didn’t have: good-looking enough to take to a friend’s swanky dinner party but light enough, and with a good enough lid, to take to work every day. The result is Styleware, a collection of nesting bowls that are durable; sleek, sealable with snap-tight lids; dishwasher, microwave, fridge and freezer-friendly; and BPA and phthalate-free. We love the new eucalyptus colourway, pictured, but there are plenty of others — and you can customise your own set by mixing and matching.
