An Australian premium beef mince product has been urgently recalled amid fears of plastic contamination, with shoppers urged to immediately return the product.

Warwick Meats QLD has warned customers their Premium 4 Star Mince Beef 500g, with the best before date of 13/12/2025, may be contaminated with plastic matter.

The product was available for sale in independent retailers, including IGA in NSW and QLD.

The notice, which was placed on Food Standards Australia and New Zealand, has advised that consumers should return the mince to the place of purchase for a full refund.

The presence of foreign matter is a food safety hazard and the alert states: “Food products containing plastic may cause illness/injury if consumed”.
