The first sods have finally been turned at the ambitious Witchcliffe Eco-Village project.

Perth-based contractor Wormall Civil will lead the civil works for the first three stages.

“Starting construction is a huge milestone that’s been more than a decade in the making,” founder Mike Hulme said.

“It’s also the realisation of a long-held dream to create a highly sustainable and resilient community that sets a new sustainability benchmark for residential developments.”

Sales of the first 64 lots are expected in April, with the eco-village to host public presentations and walking tours.
