Motorists warned of Sunday’s Margaret River main street closure for inaugural Pair’d Back Street Party

Motorists are being warned Margaret River’s main street will be a no-go zone for vehicles on Sunday as part of a new festival. Bussell Highway will be fully closed to drivers between the Tunbridge Street and Walllcliffe Road roundabouts from 11am-9pm as the area is transformed for the Pair’d Back Margaret River Street Party. Carparks along the busy thoroughfare will have a more extended closure, from 6am-9pm, to allow more time for event set-up. Most businesses within the closure area will continue to operate as usual on Sunday, with customers asked to park in car bays in surrounding streets. Those attending the event, which will be held from 3pm-7pm, are encouraged to walk or ride there and leave their pets at home. The free street party is the closing event of the inaugural Pair’d Margaret River Region wine and food festival, which started on Thursday and replaces Gourmet Escape on the region’s events calendar.
