Souwest Jets endured a tough night in WA Netball League action, with both sides unable to match the intensity of dominant Western Roar outfits.

The open side went down 60-32 with a poor start costing them after the Roar flew out of the gates with an 18-5 opening term.

The Jets could never get going as the Roar added to their lead at every break.

WA under-19 talent Lily Knight again led the Jets’ scoring with 19 goals, continuing her consistent form despite a difficult outing for the team overall.

The Jets struggled to contain Roar’s spread of attacking options, with Sophia Lamers (35), Asha Parsons (13) and Mia Burton (12) all sharing the scoring load to keep the Jets defence under pressure throughout.

Roar also welcomed back West Coast Fever training partner Caitlyn Brown, who had an impact in goal defence and helped limit the Jets’ attacking flow.

The under-21s also fell short, losing 72-58 in a high-scoring contest where Roar shooter Loyola Vaauli proved too strong, driving the result with a dominant attacking performance.

Knight again played a key role for the Jets, finishing with 25 goals in the under-21s after also featuring in the open side earlier in the weekend.

Her combined workload highlighted her importance across both squads as the Jets continue to lean on her versatility and scoring ability.

Despite the results, both Jets sides remain focused on the final stretch of the season. With three games to play the under-21s are sitting in third, coming up against the Demons on Sunday at Eaton Recreation Centre with a win almost guaranteeing a finals berth.
