A human body has been found after a house fire in Brisbane's northern suburbs.

The body is believed to be a 75-year-old woman who became trapped by the blaze at the home on Hervey St, North Lakes, on Friday morning.

Police have set up a crime scene at the home and are investigating the cause of the fire.

Emergency services including seven fire crews were initially called at 10.20am.

The roof of the house partially collapsed as they battled to put out the blaze.

Ambulances were also at the scene, but the person inside was unable to be rescued and treated in time.
