Accused drug trafficker refused bail

A 28-year-old man accused of trafficking 1kg of the drug ice in a custom metal cabinet hidden within his car’s spare tyre has been refused bail in Busselton Magistrate’s Court.

Luke Ryan Witt appeared via video link from Bunbury Regional Prison on Tuesday and faces 11 charges, including possession of a traffickable quantity of methamphetamine, weapons, drug paraphernalia, and stolen or unlawfully obtained property.

It is alleged he was stopped on April 23 on returning to the South West from Perth and found with a traffickable quantity of methamphetamine hidden in his spare tyre, $6000 cash, smoking implements and a small amount of cannabis.

In a separate incident on August 24, he was allegedly found in possession of $7500 in cash, 3.46g of methamphetamine, three prohibited weapons and stolen property.

He was remanded in custody.
