Activ Foundation partners with Return it Busselton

Activ Foundation is set to receive a major boost in relation to its fundraising efforts, with the announcement of a new partnership. Partnering with container recycling initiative, Return it, is seen as a win-win for sustainability, as well as for Busselton residents living with a disability. The aim of the collaboration is to encourage the Busselton community to return all eligible containers to the on-site Activ branded recycle bins. The Return It Busselton site processes approximately 11 million containers per year and with every 1000 containers processed, $100 will be donated to Activ Foundation, which provides disability support services. “The boost to the fundraising will go straight back into the community and improve the lives of people living with disability by upgrading houses, providing more training courses, and important services,” Activ Foundation chief executive, Michael Heath said. “We know that when people see tangible benefits of their recycling, whether that be more of our specialist disability accommodation homes popping up in their local area, or greater access for people with a disability to education and training opportunities, it encourages more recycling. “It really is a win-win.” Return It national community and partner manager Charlene Wade said she looks forward to seeing the partnership grow. “We strive to make recycling a rewarding experience for our customers,” she said. “Return It has seen great benefits brought to our community organisation partners in Geraldton, Bunbury, and others within the Perth metropolitan area. “We are proud to partner with Activ Foundation to encourage recycling, offer valuable community support, and contribute toward improving the lives of Western Australians living with disability.”
