Athletes on tour to inspire
Australian Olympic and Paralympic stars visited the region last week for the Champions 2 Country regional tour.
Olivia Vivian, 2008 Olympian and 2014 Commonwealth Games gymnast, joined 2010 and 2014 dual hockey gold medallist Trent Mitton and West Coast Fever netballer Ingrid Colyer in Busselton on Thursday.
The athletes ran a series of netball clinics at Lou Western oval followed by a question-and-answer session.
The athletes visited five regional towns over three days as part of a tour presented by the Western Australian Olympic Council and WA division of the Australian Commonwealth Games Association.
The tour presented the opportunity for athletes to share their sporting experiences and provide inspiration on issues including healthy lifestyle, leadership, teamwork, respect and motivation to achieve goals.
Sport and Recreation Minister Mick Murray said he hoped the tour inspired young regional people to overcome adversity and build resilience.
