Busselton Volleyball Association was awarded the 2019 WA Regional Club of the Year at the recent Volleyball WA awards in Perth.

The award was thanks to a wide range of community events, a committee restructure at the beginning of the year and well-run indoor and beach competitions contributing to solid performances in all WA volleyball tournaments.

Busselton Volleyball president David Hutchins said he was delighted with the accolade and invited new players to the “come and try” days of beach volleyball.

“It’s a credit to the great bunch of local committee members, players, additional helpers and supporters,” he said.

“The upcoming summer beach volleyball season is crowded with a range of events.” Busselton will host Round 4 of the Alcohol Think Again WA Beach volleyball series on the weekend of February 1 and 2, 2020.

This tournament showcases some of the best Australian beach volleyball teams as they vie for points for the overall WA championship.

The local pairs and fours beach competitions begin on December 9 at the jetty foreshore, and nominations are available online.

A mixed pair’s tournament will be held during the Busselton Festival in January and “come and try days” are scheduled for November and January.
