Kids went back to school in droves this week after the Premier announced it was parents’ choice to send their children back to the classroom amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Times understands attendance at public schools in the Capes was above 70 per cent.

Dunsborough Primary School principal Garry Jones said playgrounds were open but regularly sanitised, while recess would not be staggered.

“We believe school is a safe place to be and teachers are prepared to deliver classes as normal as possible and for those children that are still at home we are still providing resources to continue their learning,” he said.
