Big journey for a cause

Busselton Dunsborough Times

Dunsborough’s Harry Lill and his three friends are hoping their 15-day cycle from Perth to Melbourne will help open conversations on depression and anxiety.

Mr Lill, with fellow students Naish Wallace, Oscar Wharton and Sam Love, set off from Domain Stadium in Perth on Tuesday to cycle 3500km to the MCG in Melbourne to raise funds for beyondblue.

The boys said they were looking to achieve three things on their journey to Melbourne.

“We want to reinforce the notion that it really is OK to open up and talk when you’re feeling low or struggling with life,” they said. “We are also looking to highlight the need to support others and not being afraid to ask if someone is OK.”

Realmark Dunsborough is holding a sausage sizzle at its office on Dunn Bay Road from noon today to help. All funds go to the cause and a raffle has prizes from Empire, Shoe Be Doo, Little Leisure and Cape Cellars.
