Big season for Seasiders
The Seasiders of Geographe Bay Football Club are celebrating their 10th year in the South West’s soccer league — and its shaping up to be a big one.
The senior teams comprise last season’s successful ladies’ side, promoted to the Premier league after their 2018 league championship and South West Cup win.
Sara King will remain at the helm as senior coach.
The men will be entering two teams this season, one in division 1 and the other in the men’s masters.
Men’s coaches this year will be Danny Crampton and Tom Light.
The club also has a juniors’ program ranging from under-8 to youth age groups.
King said the aim for 2019 was to “provide a supportive pathway for boys and girls to take the next step into the senior game”.
“If you would like to be part of our family-friendly club as a player, coach or volunteer, we would love to hear from you,” she said. The club will host a family fun day club muster on Sunday at Sir Stuart Bovell Park from 1pm with a sausage sizzle and bouncy castle on the day.
Pre-season training is now under way on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6pm.
“Dust off the boots, shin pads, bandages and knee braces and come along for a run,” King said.
