Thousands of books will be on offer at Busselton Library’s quarterly Big Book Sale on April 27, which will also give visitors the chance to snap inventive photos for Bookface Friday.

An internet trend created by American librarians, #BookfaceFriday became a handle for book-lovers to post photos of their faces or bodies carefully lined up with matching faces or bodies of book covers, exclusively on Fridays.

Busselton librarians didn’t hesitate to give Bookface Friday a go, with marvellous results, and encouraged visitors of the sale next week to do the same while browsing the second-hand wares.

Community engagement librarian Penny Crowley said she wasn’t exaggerating when she said the library had thousands of books to sell for bargain prices.

“Funds raised will be used to purchase new library resources, like books or digital technology,” Ms Crowley said. “Volunteers are also welcome to help us set up the day before, or help sell books on the day.”

The sale runs all day on Friday, April 27.
