Cheeky Monkey Brewing Co.’s Hazy East Coast IPA was named Best Beer of the Year last month at the Good Food Guide Awards in Perth.

The beer became one of the company’s best sellers almost immediately after joining the company’s core-range of products in September.

Cheeky Monkey director Brent Burton said the award was “a testament to the whole team”.

“From concept development to sales and marketing, everyone has played a role in the creation of this beer and I could not be prouder of the team’s effort,” he said.

The “hazy, fruity, and juicy” IPA was one year of research and development, and saw the brewing team collaborate with Cellarbrations Carlisle and the Dutch Trading Co in Perth.

During the research process Cheeky Monkey released numerous East Coast IPA’s called Surf Break Series which aided them in the development of the award-winning beer.

The East Coast IPA is now available at BWS and Dan Murphy’s stores across Western Australia.
