Bumper showing of talent

Sarah IsonBusselton Dunsborough Times

The Cape Artists Easter Exhibition draws together a range of styles and subject matter from more than 150 resident artists whose work will be displayed during the Easter long weekend.

Artworks of various media and sizes will fill the walls of Yallingup Hall on Caves Road, from grandiose watercolours to miniature acrylic canvases.

The exhibition, hosted by Dunsborough Art Society, will run from 10am-5pm every day from today. Artist and member Yvonne Hirst said the long weekend was one of the busiest times of the year for the region and a perfect opportunity for artists to display their work to local and visiting viewers.

“Viewers can give scores and pick their favourite pieces, which will decide the people’s choice awards,” she said.

“Kids absolutely love taking part and the parents can buy original paintings at great prices.”

Hirst said participating artists ranged from those who had been part of the club for decades to totally new members. The exhibition will run until next Tuesday.

Entry is free.
