Busselton Dunsborough Times

Busselton small business owners were recognised for their innovation and creativity at this year’s WA Regional Small Business awards, held in Perth last Friday.

Nudge Psychological Assessment and Consulting won the overall Western Australian Regional Small Business of the Year award and the customer service award.

Nudge Psychological owner Melissa Harrison said she was stoked with the win.

“This is the first year we’ve applied so between taking out a South West business award then to get this as well just blew us away,” she said.

Ms Harrison said the award which came at a good time, coinciding with Psychology week.

“I believe mental health has taken a back seat in regional and rural areas so its a good time to recognise the services in the South West which are just as good if not better than those in metropolitan areas.”

Meanwhile The Goodnight Nurse, which specialises in children’s sleep problems, received the best home-based business award.

Founder Emma Pollard said she was proud to stand alongside many other successful South West small businesses.

“It validates the work that I do and shows I’m on the right path,” she said.

She thanked Business South West for their support and mentoring.

Each category award winner received $1,000 from the Small Business Development Corporation, Nudge Psychological also received $25,000 worth of television advertising and the production of a 30-second commercial.
