Busselton high school students shave their heads for breast cancer Awareness

Busselton Senior High School held a “wear it pink day” on Tuesday, to raise awareness and funds for the Breast Cancer Foundation. Two year 12 students got involved and shaved their heads in front of students and staff. Cate Anderson and Olivia Channon cut off their long and luscious locks to encourage donations from students. The Pink Day event was organised and run by the Geographe Bay Z Club, which is a Zonta school-based service club that puts on events and fundraisers throughout the year. The club set up a cupcake stall, a pink hair spray station and sold pink badges during lunch time, with all donations going towards the foundation. Many students and staff showed their support by wearing pink clothes and accessories throughout the day. “Cate asked if we could support her which we were more than happy to do,” said Z Club school adviser Dee Shade. “Z Club is affiliated with the Zonta Club of Dunsborough and we try to hold events that support both the school and the community.” “Yearly events we hold include Rainbow Day (LGBTQI+), RU OK Day and Share the Dignity ‘Its in a Bag’ as well as putting together welcome packs for our incoming Year 7s.”
