Four players from Busselton’s Country’s Hockey Club have secured State Representation in National Tournaments this year.

Country’s is a small club within the Busselton Hockey Association, comprising of two junior teams and a women’s team, yet they boast an enviable history of State and National selection.

Kelley Robinson has been playing for WA Masters since 2012 and Lisa Hodge started back in 2016.

Karen Beynon is the newest recruit, first selected in 2019.

Isabella Duff has recently competed in the School Sport WA U16 Girls team in Hobart. Trials were held on the 2nd and 3rd April 2022, with two follow-up training sessions in late April. The travelling squad was announced early May with training sessions commencing every weekend until the end of July. Isabella Duff was named as one of the two Goalkeepers for the team.

The Championships were held in Hobart, Tasmania from July 30 to August 6.

The WA girls had wins over Tasmania, ACT and Victoria and drew with South Australia with some fantastic teamwork. Losses to Queensland and New South Wales saw the WA girls finish third on the ladder and play off against South Australia for a chance of a Bronze Medal.

The girls played an amazing game and Isabella had some great saves to secure a 2-0 win and the Bronze Medal.
