The regions tour operators have taken out five of the gold awards at the annual Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards, with one Busselton accommodation provider inducted into the hall of fame. Eco-Certified Busselton Tree Chalets. joined the WA Tourism Hall of Fame and won the gold award in the self contained accommodation category for the third consecutive year. Tree Chalets owners Andrew and Fran Robinson said they were “ecstatic” to now be part of the WA Tourism Hall of Fame. Other local winners from the 27 categories on the night were the Pullman Bunker Bay resort in the business event venue category, Origins Market for the tourism retail and hire services, Harvest Tours, which operates out of Margaret River and Albany, for excellence in food tourism and Gnarabup’s Surf Point Resort in the 3-3.5 star accommodation category. These gold medallists will all go on to represent the region and Western Australia at the Australian Tourism Awards. Tourism Council WA CEO Evan Hall said the tourism industry’s premier awards night showcased the innovation and dedication to business excellence of the State’s leading tourism operators across 27 categories. “All participants in the 2023 Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards demonstrated a profound commitment to making WA a diverse and welcoming tourism destination for guests,” Mr Hall said. “Tonight’s winners have gone up against exceptional competition from tourism operators and can proudly state they are the best of the best.” The awards were made possible by the continual support of several sponsors, particularly principal sponsor Perth Airport. The Western Australia Tourism Awards are presented by the Tourism Council Western Australia.
