Capel bowler Bev Scott has won her 12th South West Bowling League Singles Championship in Bunbury on March 13.

The Capel Bowls Club ladies champion was given a standing ovation from the champion ladies for winning the title after three days of bowling against the eight teams from Bunbury, Eaton, Busselton, Binningup, Capel, Collie, Harvey and Brunswick.

The carnival saw all ladies who won their club championship events in the singles, pairs, triples and fours played off in a round robin format. Many of the games went to the wire involving one or two-shot victories.

Capel finished fourth overall with 32points. The winning club was Bunbury with 37.5 points.

The performance of the Capel ladies at this championship caps off a stellar year after the club won the ladies 2019 South West Bowling Leagues pennant flag at Eaton.
