Carols in the Park
Christmas carols will fill the evening air in Dunsborough on Tuesday, December 18.
Organised by the Dunsborough Progress Association, Dunsborough Carols in the Park will begin at 6pm with a Lions Club sausage sizzle.
People are invited to bring a picnic to enjoy before the carols start at 6.45pm.
Co-ordinator Jacquie Happ said the event this year would be hosted by Mitch Baker, with lead caroller Lisa Knight and local jazz musicians led by Sean Lillico.
“We are thrilled to bring the carols to the heart of the town, and hope that the space will fill with the non-flammable candles we have for sale, creating quite an atmosphere of community,” Mrs Happ said.
“We have amazing local musicians who have donated their time preparing for the carols, and an array of guests joining for their own performances at the beginning of the evening.”
Mrs Happ said there would be short readings about the nativity, and a visit by Santa Claus was anticipated for the end of the evening.
“And a reminder to bring chairs, along with warm clothes, rugs, blankets as it may get cold in the evening after the sun goes down,” she said.
“We also urge people close enough to town to bike or walk to the event to keep parking available for those who need to drive to Dunsborough.”
The carols will be in the centre of Dunsborough at the Lions Park. Donations will be accepted to help support the event.
