Cause to boogie the night away

Following on from its success last year, a charity night hosted by two Dunsborough DJ’s will again spin a range of tracks to raise money for a cause close to their hearts.
Light up the Dancefloor for Leukaemia will be held at the Dunsborough Tavern following on from last year’s Disco Inferno.
Next week’s event will raise funds for the Leukaemia Foundation.
DJ’s Tim Woodward and Daz Hall are back to shake up the dancefloor with tracks spanning the 70s, 80s and 90s.
“It will be a night of all of the classic hits and to be enjoyed by people aged from 18 to over 50,” he said.
A great excuse to dust off the leg-warmers and fluoro, the event will also include a UV face painter for those wishing to recreate the glory days of the 80s. Prizes will also be up for grabs for the best dressed and the best dancers.
It’s a cause close to Woodward’s heart in particular — his son was previously diagnosed with leukaemia, which he said influenced his decision to raise money for the foundation.
Light up the Dancefloor for Leukaemia is being sponsoredby local businesses such as Hillzeez, the Good Guys Busselton, the Bayview Geographe Resort, the Dunsborough Tavern and Suedehead. Tickets are available from Hillzeez and the Tav and cost $25.
The event gets under way next Friday, August 24 from 8pm, with people encouraged to purchase tickets soon before they all get snapped up.
