This week was a tough fight between top and bottom of the ladder as Wests ladies and Cavaliers ladies went head to head at the Busselton Hockey Stadium.

A slick and cohesive Wests made many attacks at the Cavs goal with the ever-reliable and experienced goalie Emma Royer holding them out.

Most of the Cavaliers were junior players ranging from middle school to high school with the more experienced full-back Rhonda Williams and centre-half Kylie Pickering supporting the young team throughout the match.

The first half saw both teams hit the ball to the back of the net by way of Wests’ Lucy Irvine and Cavs’ Eliza Brown.

The Cavs held on for a confidence-boosting draw with top of the South West Hockey League table Wests.
