Chevy revving for car show

Joe Catalano has done the heavy lifting and says he can’t wait to show off his pride and joy at next weekend’s South West Indoor Motor Show. He has spent days and nights putting in the elbow grease getting his 1968 Chevrolet Camaro ready to display. “I am so excited, I have been working on this car for 21/2 years,” he said. Since then, he has spent thousands of dollars and more than 1200 hours rebuilding the car to his requirements. “I am very particular,” he said. I know what I want.” “It’s been a labour of love for me. I have liked this model car most of my life.” He said he became interested in cars from an early age, working with his father on the family farm, where he learnt about mechanics fixing tractors. His bright orange beast is a far cry from a plough-puller, featuring a 540 cubic inch supercharged engine he estimates produces 1200 rear-wheel horsepower. The show is at Georgiana Molloy Anglican School on March 20 from 9am-1pm and March 21 from 10am-1pm.
