The 2021 City of Busselton Art Awards were in full swing last Friday night with the town abuzz with creativity.

Elmari Steyn took home the major prize with her piece Driftwood which the judges called an “unanimous winner”.

Steyn encouraged fellow artists to never stop dreaming.

“The biggest gift you can give yourself is to pull out all the stops,” she said.

“Follow your heart and do what you love.”

Young Kirralea Birch was awarded the prize for emerging artist.

After the announcements the community danced the night away in the cultural precinct to the upbeat sounds of the Witchy DJypsies.
