The City of Busselton’s Undalup Room is set to be lit up in blue as punters get dressed up to the nines to raise money for Busselton Hospice Care. The inaugural Blue Ball for Busselton Hospice Care will take place on Saturday, May 27 from 6pm. The community event will feature Triple M presenter Angie Ayers as MC, DJ Macca spinning tunes throughout the night, award-winning caterers Supper Road providing a three-course dinner, and beverages served by Busselton AFL Masters Football Club. The Busselton Camera Club, Dunsborough Men’s Shed, and sailors from the Busselton Yacht Club are all donating their time to ensure the night is a success, as well as SW Precision Print which has made set dressings for a photo booth. Many local businesses have donated prizes for a silent auction, including a Tiger Moth adventure flight, Twilight Sailing, accommodation at Broadwater Resort and a photographic package with Abby Murrary. Event organiser Michelle Shackleton said she was heartened by the generous donations from local businesses both large and small. The Blue Ball is set to launch at the beginning of Go Blue For June, a month-long awareness and fundraising initiative which is now in its third year. Funds raised from the Blue Ball and Go Blue For June will go towards ongoing volunteer support services in the Busselton Health Campus Hospice Unit and the Geographe Bay Centers’ support units and programs.
