CMI Busselton City caused the upset of the day in the semi-finals of the South West Soccer Association’s Pioneer Cup competition on Sunday with a 3-0 win over Dynamos.

A well-taken hat-trick by Bunbury Grammar student Will Jackson was enough for the local side to defeat last year’s premiership winners.

However, the foundation of Busselton’s success was the outstanding efforts of centre-backs Dan Dewaal and Mitch Monc.

Leading 2-0 at the break Busselton withstood numerous attacks from Dynamos.

With 15 minutes remaining Jackson grabbed his third.

Busselton City will now face neighbours Dunsborough Town in the Pioneer Cup Final on Anzac Day.

Missing key players through injury did not help the Triple M Busselton City Ladies side in their game against Hay Park.

After going a goal behind midway through the first half Busselton came close to equalising through the efforts of Emma Killick and Tui Clarke.

But it was Hay Park who had the last say when they scored from a well-constructed corner kick to clinch a spot in the final.
