City take on Royals in cup opener
Busselton City will kick off the season with an FFA Cup match against amateur division one side Perth Royals in Perth on Sunday.
Teams will face off for the FFA Cup in the national knock-out competition.
Busselton City performed well in the competition last season defeating Hammersley Rovers before getting knocked out by State league winners Western Knights.
After also winning the South West Cup last year, Busselton City have been training under the guidance of coaches Andy Cowley and Martin Ryan.
Playing stocks have been strengthened with the return of goalkeeper Shane Russell, defender Sam Harrison and midfielders Ian Feakes, Brett Colombera and Larbi Khardi.
Newcomers Rob Amey (England) and Daniel Dewaal ( New Zealand) along with promising youngsters Cam Best and Jaiden Chromow are also contenders for spots in the Premier League line-up.
Busselton City will field two women’s teams this season with Rob Gibbons and Paul Coshott again coaching.
Busselton City will take on Geographe Bay in the annual John Cannam Memorial Cup on Sunday, March 18.
The South West soccer season starts Sunday, April 8.
