Civic centre named as region’s best

The City of Busselton’s new administration and civic centre building has been crowned the South West’s best commercial project 2018 by Master Builders, joining numerous other local projects recognised for their impressive designs.

Busselton City Mayor Grant Henley commended builder BGC Construction for providing an “architecturally stunning, highly functional and environmentally friendly” building that served as a landmark.

A Yallingup house was named the best country home in the South West and multiple Dunsborough properties won best contract home in various price brackets.

Amelia Park Lodge Tavern won best commercial industrial building and three other commercial projects in Busselton and Vasse also secured first place in several categories.

Barnard Park sports pavilion was feted in the excellence in energy efficiency category, while the innovative construction on a small lot award was presented to Master Builders for a Dunsborough property.

Dunsborough Lakes and Kealy Estate display homes won first place in almost every price bracket in the best display home category and best alterations and additions winners came from Yallingup, Dunsborough and Eagle Bay.

More than a dozen other regional sites were also commended across a range of categories and awards on March 24.
