The City of Busselton community is being asked to vote for their favourite project in the city’s You Choose community funding program.

You Choose offers a total of $100,000 in smaller grants of up to $20,000 for community led projects or initiatives that will help improve a local neighbourhood, or the broader community.

There are 10 ideas for community projects for people to pick from.

Mayor Phill Cronin said the applications had gone through a simple assessment process to ensure they were legal, safe and achievable.

“They are then ready for the broader community to consider how they would like to allocate the $100,000 funding pool,” he said.

“The city has received a great mix of innovative projects and I would encourage everyone in our community to take part in allocating the funding pool.”

The You choose program was initially piloted by the City of Busselton in 2021.

“t’s great to see how well the community has again embraced this community led initiative,” Mr Cronin said.

Previous projects and submissions that have received grants include Shelterbags ($20,000), Pets of Older Persons ($7750) and Busselton Hospice Care Lasting Words ($10,870).

Voting is now open and closes on February 12.
