A solo dancing workshop is headed to the Naturaliste Community Centre, with seniors encouraged to socialise, stay active and have a good time.

Solo dancing is a safe and inclusive activity providing a strong sense of community, socialising with like-minded people, and improving health and vitality through dance.

Locals Penny De Cuyper and Marjorie Sheldon said they were attending the event because it was important to keep fit and healthy, both physically and mentally.

“I’m 84 and I go to fitness groups and I think it’s excellent to keep active and it helps you stay young by socialising,” Ms Sheldon said.

“You can dance and get fit and do it with other like-minded people,” Ms De Cuyper said.

The DanceSport workshop will be held on Saturday, October 24 from 2pm-3pm. Tickets are $19 a person, including afternoon tea.
