A Geographe man has been charged with drink driving after crashing his car into Busselton’s Ironman event on Sunday. The 24-year-old driver barrelled his Toyota Corolla through the triathlon barracades on the Busselton Foreshore at 1.20pm Sunday, interrupting the bike leg of the race. Police allege the man was affected by alcohol at the time, with a reading of 0.278. No athletes or pedestrians were injured in the incident. The man was issued a roadside licence disqualification notice and will appear in Busselton Magistrates Court at a later date.
