Dunbeetles hosting masters tournament
The Dunsborough Busselton Dungbeetles are hosting a Western Australian “Golden Oldies” Rugby Carnival at Barnard Park.
The Dungbeetles with play host to nine Perth teams in total with a welcome to Busselton sundowner tomorrow at Barnard Sports Pavilion from 5.30pm onwards.
Games will begin on Saturday from 12pm, starting with the Junior Beetles under 12s against the Bunbury Barbarians.
A Memorial Service for players who have passed away will be held at 12.50 with the first senior game at 1pm.
Dunsborough Busselton Dungbeetles Rugby Club Captain Wayne Flood said the club would like to thank all of the Perth teams for traveling down for the carnival.
“Special mentions go to Jim Harman, Barnard Park Sports Pavilion, Dunsborough Signs and Graphics and a big Thank you to the City of Busselton for supporting us in hosting this great event,” he said.
The Dungbeetles will honour club legend 84-year-old David Bell with a special presentation and a buffet dinner will be served at 7pm on Saturday with live entertainment at 8pm.

1:40pm: Perth, Wandering Pigs V Rocking Chairs/Irish Expats
2:20pm: Mighty Dungbeetles V Silver Lions/Blues Brothers
3:00pm: Wandering Pigs V Mandurah Raw Prawns
3:40pm: Raw Prawns V Palmyra Pigs/Wanneroo Olde Dogs
4:20pm: Palmyra Pigs/Wanneroo Olde Dogs V Midland Puffin Billies
5:00pm: Mighty Dungbeetles V Midland Puffin Billies
5:45pm: Dungbeetles Mixed Touch Rugby Premiers V Pomare Whanau, Perth.
