A Dutch couple undertaking an epic journey around the world in their 1915 Model T Ford stopped off in Busselton last week, paying a visit to the Busselton Veteran Car Club.

Dirk and Trudy Regter began their 80,000 mile (130,000km) journey in 2007, setting off from Holland and ending in Cape Town.

Since then they have travelled through the US, Canada and South America.

Although a crash in 2015 left them off the road for two years while their beloved Model T was repaired, the pair started their journey again earlier this year, travelling through New Zealand and Australia.

Throughout the journey, the Regters have been raising money for SOS Children’s Village, a charity that supports orphans across the globe, and have raised about $75,000 so far.

The Regters met Busselton Veteran Car Club members and spoke about their experiences on the journey.
