More than 100,000 lights have brightened up Vasse again this year as Robyn and Peter Chinnery continue their long-held Christmas display tradition.

For three years, the Chinnerys have lit up 800sqm of 152 Beltonia Way with Christmas lights.

The mastermind behind the display, their son Glen, began the tradition at his house in Capel for two years prior, but the extra space at his parents’ Vasse property led him to shift it there.

He said the display was a six-month project every year.

“This year we tried to do a little more than we did last year, which turned out quite good,” he said.

“We started planning in July, getting things made and working out what we’re going to do. “Mum starts a little earlier, making things around the June mark.”

Mr Chinnery said he believed the display was more important than ever this year due to the difficulties experienced in the community and he was proud to spread happiness.

The display can be found on Facebook by searching Beltonia Way Christmas Lights, Busselton.
