The Fesitval of Busselton launched its 60th year with an epic New Year’s Eve concert on the Busselton Foreshore in front of a capacity crowd.

Bunbury band Last Minute kept the enormous crowd singing and dancing with some energetic cover versions of many classic pop songs.

There was a festival atmosphere, alongside the live music, with the Busselton Carnival providing rides and sideshows to keep everyone entertained.

On the beach, there were lots of messages and signatures written on the Festival Spirit, which this year was built by a team from Busselton Men’s Shed, ahead of the traditional burning ceremony.

Fesitval of Busselton committee president Amy Boliver paid tribute to this year’s milestone.

“This is the 60th year of the festival so we have some special events planned, and the fireworks this year will be bigger and better than ever,” she said.

On January 27th there will be a special gala event at the Origins Market marking the 60th year of the festival.

The festival committee is appealing for past festival queens, ambassadors and committee members to come along to this celebration of the festival.
