Film festival seeks interns

CinefestOZ is calling for interns to get involved in this year’s festival, which will be held in August.

CinefestOZ marketing assistant Lizzie Murrell has been involved with the festival for two years, initially signing on as an intern.

Ms Murrell said work as an intern for CinefestOZ had taught her a lot of industry skills and the experience she had gained was irreplaceable, had assisted her with her studies and had led to further opportunities, within the industry and outside of it.

“To be honest, I wasn’t aware of how amazing the film industry was before beginning my internship with CinefestOZ, and after the first few weeks of interning I was hooked,” she said.

“My background is public relations and marketing, which is what I study at university, and I wasn’t sure of what field I wanted to go into. I had never considered film before CinefestOZ.

The industry is incredibly fun and interesting, although definitely requires hard work and commitment.”
