Firefighting units are attending to a blaze near Dolphin Road in Busselton.
A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said the fire was reported at 1.49pm after smoke was spotted on the beachfront and flames through the trees.
It is believed to have started in the dunes and is about 500m wide.
The fire is not yet out, but was contained at 2.32pm.
Busselton, Vasse and Ambergate brigades were deployed.
