Busselton Trotting Club’s 2018-2019 season is fast approaching, with the first meeting kicking off on Boxing Day.

Committee members have kept busy gearing up for the big night and preparing Churchill Park for the opening meet.

With a new program system in place by the governing body, all races are recategorised.

“There will be two pony trot races on the opening night which are a great attraction for the youngsters, so come along and enjoy the facilities and don’t forget to bring a jumper as the Busselton breeze turns cold,” secretary and treasurer Pat Abbott said.

There will be a Sweetheart Series for mares on four nights with two events per meeting and the BFS Busselton Cup has had a $5000 stake increase provided by the Busselton Trotting Club, making it a $15,000 prized race.

Catering on the course will be provided by the local scout group with full refreshments available, with further support for all meetings by LAMP and Busselton HHH.

The Busselton Cup meeting will be on Friday, January 25.
