Friendly Folk on foreshore
Margaret River duo The Friendly Folk are gearing up to perform at Dunsborough Arts Festival’s free evening concerts on the Saturday and Sunday of the March long weekend.
The duo, Kiera Jas and Peppa Lane, are both 19 and already forging ahead on pathways to music careers, with Lane studying music at the coveted West Australian Academy of Performing Arts and Jas having just released her first solo single, Shadows.
Jas and Lane have regularly gigged together across the region since high school and have also found success in other collaborations — particularly their jazz band, The Dizzy G’s, mentored by local jazz singer Michelle Spriggs.
The Friendly Folk will perform at the Saturday night festival concert on the main Dunsborough foreshore from 6-7pm, ahead of Dunsborough-based band So What, presenting a night of jazz.
Seasoned singer-guitarist Brooke Kelly will also be on the Sunday night program.
A bar and food will be available at both concerts, raising funds for the Dunsborough Progress Association. The bar opens at 5.30pm on both evenings, with the Saturday concert under way at 6pm and the Sunday night concert at 5.45pm. No BYO.
