Geographe Bay celebrate new future under the leadership of John Mark

Leadership was switched up last month at the Busselton Geographe Bay Rotary Club as a new president was sworn in. The annual changeover dinner marked the end of a successful year for the local club as outgoing president Chris White handed over to avid volunteer John Mark, and a new board of directors was also chosen. It comes after more than $50,000 was raised by the club through community fundraising activities, including Sunday markets and a cystic fibrosis golf day. Ms White highlighted events and partnerships that had driven the club in the past year, including contributions to the Royal Flying Doctor Service and sponsoring four Busselton students to sail on STS Leeuwin II. “I believe we have had a very good year, both financially and in terms of rebuilding our fellowship and friendships,” she said. Mr Mark said he was looking forward to his year in the top spot.“We are fortunate to live in such a prosperous and growing community, but there are still many areas of need,” he said. “Rotary seeks to make our community, and indeed the world, a better place to live.”
