Busselton’s Glenn Meyer has invented a board game that’s gone global after he was inspired by fishing in the South West.

The local angler said Busselton and the South West are great places to fish and it made him want to invent a game that not only locals could play but also anyone around the world.

Global Angler — Exploring the World of Fishing — is a family game that can be played indoors when you’re unable to go fishing.

Mr Meyer said the game was also environmentally friendly and based on the conservation of fish stocks for the future.

“Basically when you play the game you get penalised for bad decisions in the environment, and you get rewarded for good environmental decisions,” Meyer said.

It has information on well-known fishing spots around the world including Western Australia and Busselton.

The game has gone global with sales on Amazon in the US and Australia and will soon progress to Europe.
