Global conference to shine a spotlight on the South West

The annual South West Connect ASX Showcase will see Busselton welcome more than 40 ASX listed companies next week.

The city will host many companies during the two-day conference, including specialists in biomedical technologies, financial technology, exploration, mining and energy.

Run by Vertical Events, the forum is hoping to attract up to 500 investors in the South West and will feature a series of events at local wineries and hospitality venues.

“In its third year, South West Connect is unique as it remains the only diversified ASX investment forum in Western Australia staged outside of metropolitan Perth,” Vertical Events business development manager Jaxon Crabb said.

“The conference provides the perfect environment to chat to board members and executives, as well as learn more about the wide variety of companies listed on the ASX and investment opportunities they present.”

Mr Crabb said a huge number of 40 presenters had been lined up to speak, with major sponsor Canaccord Genuity delivering a keynote presentation.

“We are pleased to have this prominent broker, who has raised over $1.6 billion for ASX-listed companies, speak at this year’s South West Connect, alongside a range of successful mining executives,” he said.

“This event is not about the big end of town, with plenty of opportunity to hear from companies with operations in the South West like International Graphite, Galan Lithium and Little Green Pharma.”

City of Busselton Mayor Grant Henley said the showcase would bring substantial number of visitors to the city, as well as the broader South West region.

“This conference is a fantastic opportunity to provide a global stage for local companies, as well as give a major financial boost to our local businesses,” he said

“I look forward to welcoming company representatives and delegates from around the world to Busselton and congratulate Jaxon and the Vertical Events team for bringing this unique event to regional WA.”

The two day showcase will be held at Abbey Beach Resort, from October 18 to October 19.
