Netballer Charlie Allen, 18, has won the 2019-20 Busselton Freight Services rising sports star award.

The goal attack was the April nomination and is working hard to join the WA under-19s State team after she graduates this year.

Allen, who took home a $2000 prize, thanked her mum Angie for her vital support.

“The prize to me is that good type of recognition, not only for myself but also for my mum and all the work she put in to getting me to where I am now.”

The runner-up award of $1000 went to swimmer Amy Kerr and football/basketball player Rohan Stokes took home the $400 encouragement award.
