Half marathon events all sold out in three weeks

The SunSmart Busselton Half Marathon, 10km Run and 5km Fun Run and Walk have sold out.

Busselton Runners Club confirmed this week registrations had closed after only three weeks.

Club president Denis Price said he was thrilled to achieve a sell-out so soon.

He said excitement was growing with the proposed addition of a marathon in 2021.

“Busselton is a terrific location for an event like this — it offers a flat and fast course which is attracting high-profile athletes,” he said.

“Athletes now realise that they can’t wait months to register, last year many people missed out as they thought they could register late.”nThe club has also secured high-profile event ambassadors including Olympians Steve Moneghetti, Melinda Gainsford-Taylor and Paralympian Brant Garvey.

Tickets are available to a post-race dinner with Garvey, on Saturday, February 8.
